Pregnancy Numbers
TTC Statistics
Before we really dig into tips on getting pregnant, let’s start with some stats.
Here are some reassuring stats about couples trying to conceive.
First, you have to remember that conceiving is a numbers game.
Essentially, the longer you’ve been trying, the closer you are to conceiving.
In a study containing 346 women who had timed intercourse for 12 months, the numbers show
- 38% conceived after one month
- 68% conceived after three months
- 81% conceived after six months
- 92% were conceived after 12 months
Of the 346 women in the study, 310 conceived within 12 months, and 36 women (10%) did not.
If we adjust the study only to contain those women who did conceive, the results show…
- 42% conceived after one month
- 75% conceived after three months
- 88% conceived after six months
- 98% conceived after 12 months.
These numbers show that the odds are absolutely in your favor and are just a numbers game.
The Law of Averages
Getting pregnant is essentially the Law of Averages at play.
If you want to win the game, you have to keep playing!
As for the 10% who did not conceive within the first 12 months, the odds are still in your favor, with most women conceiving after a full two years of trying naturally.
However, if you want to speed up the process, you should see a doctor after your first year of TTC if you are below 35 years of age and six months of TTC if you are 35 years and up.
Although to be perfectly honest, you should go whenever you feel like it’s been long enough with no results just to see what’s going on with your body.
There is no shame in that.
Now that we understand the odds of conceiving monthly let’s discuss leveraging those odds to our advantage!
Trying To Conceive? Here are 5 Important Planning Tips
Detox Your Body
Hormonal Birth Control
One of the most effective tips on getting pregnant is to get off hormonal birth control.
If you have been on any type of hormonal birth control which prevents your body from ovulating, it is in your best interest to give yourself a good detox.
Detoxing from birth control is one of the best ways to increase fertility and your chances of conceiving.
You can do this naturally by giving your body at least three months of no hormones to detox or using a birth control detox supplement to aid your body.
By the time I got pregnant, I had been off hormonal birth control for nearly three years.
My body had long been clear of synthetic hormonal residue for a while.
This is important because you want your body to return to its normal cycle as soon as possible.
This will make it easier to dictate your fertile time where pregnancy is most likely to happen.
For myself, my cycle started back up immediately.
I was roughly 27-29 days every cycle.
It may take longer for some women with irregular periods to regain their bodies in their routine groove.
Detox Booster
If you want to get pregnant fast, I suggest you take a Premama Birth Control Cleanse supplement.
The key to a healthy reproductive system is balance.
If you’ve been on birth control for some time and your cycle is coming back irregular, your hormones are most likely out of balance.
This is okay.
There is always a way back.
It is suggested you take it for up to 3 months to detox.
Everyone is different.
If you find that your cycle is back right away, just give your body a single cycle to acclimate itself without any intervention.
If you need more help, take this supplement until you feel you have a regular cycle of anywhere from 27-30 days again.
This supplement may also help with some nasty PMS and heavy bleeding symptoms.
Restoring balance is not only great for pregnancy but for your comfort and well-being as well.
Quit the Booze ASAP
If you need help getting pregnant, quitting alcohol is a surefire way to do so.
By the time I had gotten pregnant, I hadn’t had a drink in over a year due to personal choices.
I am also a non-smoker.
Of course, there is no shame in drinking.
I was in college once too!
The reality is that alcohol is a poison as it dehydrates you at the very least and is hard on your heart and liver at the worst.
Alcohol is known to increase cortisol production after a night of drinking since the drink raises your dopamine to an all time high.
There’s a reason it makes you feel like shit when you’ve had too much, not to mention the extra pounds that could be put on from those empty calories.
Your body will always prioritize stress hormones over sex hormones.
This can make getting pregnant fast difficult.
Clearing your body from as many unnecessary toxins as possible will put you ahead of the game when trying to conceive.
According to the book “The Mama Natural Week by Week guide to Pregnancy & Childbirth” 75% of women who want to get pregnant “as soon as possible” don’t stop drinking.
There seems to be a notion that as long as you’re not a smoker, you should be able to get pregnant with no problem when that simply isn’t the case.
Remember, Alcohol is also a toxin responsible for many diseases, cancers, injuries, and deaths.
If you are wondering how to get pregnant naturally, quitting the alcohol is a great place to start.
Get Your Partner On Board Too
In the meantime, consider ditching booze as part of your detox to conceive.
Many apps help track your sobriety and have communities where you can share your experiences.
I was not an alcoholic.
I quit it to simply become healthier and happier.
It was nice to track my progress and the amount of money I saved and to have a community in the same boat.
The less time your body spends detoxing alcohol and producing cortisol, the more time it can dedicate to sex hormone production and retain its sense of healthy balance.
Also, this isn’t just you; I suggest you get your partner on board.
It will only help them become healthier and can only help their sperm count and quality.
It would also be nice to support each other that way, so you’re not in it alone while he smashes down IPAs every night.
By the time we got pregnant, my husband had been sober for nearly a year.
He felt inspired to follow suit after I decided to cut it out of my diet for a while.
If you want to get pregnant naturally and quickly, put down the booze.
Consider this your first sacrifice as a mother and father for the sake of conceiving a healthy child and maintaining a healthy pregnancy!
Cut Back On The Caffeine
I know this will be a difficult one for most women out there.
So no more booze, smoking, and now no caffeine?
What are we trying to get pregnant or convert to Mormonism?
I know it’s rough.
That is why this is a matter of choice ultimately.
I had never been a fan of coffee because it gave me anxiety and heart palpitations.
I’ve always been susceptible to substances like alcohol and caffeine that never make me feel good.
I have never been a frequent coffee drinker, but even when I did, I would regret it.
I put it on my list, though, because while trying to conceive, it’s best to keep your emotions and hormones balanced as much as possible.
If you find caffeine generally makes you fidgety or a little anxious, it’s best to probably avoid it as much as possible.
Again, your body will always prioritize stress over sex hormones, which may disrupt your ability to get pregnant or regulate your cycle.
If you are looking for effective ways to increase your fertility, cutting back on the caffeine, alcohol and ditching the birth control are some of the quickest tips on getting pregnant that you can implement immediately.
Flood Your Body With Vitamins and Minerals
Time to Flush and Fill
Now that we have the detox part down, it is time to start replenishing with the proper nutrients we need to conceive and retain a pregnancy.
Do prenatal vitamins help you get pregnant?
Well they can’t do all the work for you, but they can help.
If you are looking how to increase your chances of getting pregnant, it is crucial you start flourishing your body with nutrients before you conceive, not after.
There were a few different supplements I was taking by the time I got pregnant.
It is crucial you find supplements that help aid in ovulation function, egg quality, implantation, and uterine lining health.
It’s one of the best natural ways to get pregnant.
Premama Fertility Support For Her
I used Premama Fertility Support For Her to improve ovulation function and egg quality.
It contains 864 mcg of Folate, vital to the baby’s early development, and 2000 mg Myo-Inositol, which restores ovarian function and regulates your cycle, thus optimizing your chances of conceiving.
This stuff was tremendous and honestly one of the best vitamins to get pregnant fast
I conceived the first month I was taking it! I genuinely feel it was a game-changer.
Women’s 1 A Day Prenatal Vitamin
In conjunction with the fertility support, I took the Women’s 1 A Day Prenatal Vitamin.
I suggest you research prenatal vitamins because some don’t even contain the necessary amount for you to even be deficient in vitamins and minerals, let alone while growing a baby.
This supplement contained 800mcg of Folate, which is about 200mcg more than the recommended amount of Folate while pregnant.
You can take any Prenatal Vitamin you want.
Just look at the Supplement Facts and ensure they have the necessary nutrients to support yourself and your baby.
However, I could no longer stomach these once I became pregnant due to the iron content.
Fish Oil
Not only is fish oil great for your heart and cardiovascular health, but it is also excellent for your uterine lining!
Fish oil helps create a spongy uterine lining sufficient for the implantation of your embryo.
Not only that, but fish oil is also great for your baby’s brain development.
DHA in fish oil is what helps the brain development in your baby.
The recommended amount is at least 500mg and up to 1000mg.
Any more than 1000mg has proven no additional benefit to the baby.
I kept taking the one I had.
Triple Strength Omega 3 Fish Oil, which contained 1250mg.
Choline
This vitamin is newer to the market of prenatal care as it is increasingly more critical to the baby’s brain development in utero, showing better cognitive function in infants, including those with down syndrome.
Most women are deficient in Choline, so taking a prenatal vitamin that contains choline or taking it separately may be beneficial.
I started by taking 500mg of Choline and increased my intake to 1000mg in my second trimester.
Studies show that up to 930mg of Choline has shown an increase in cognitive ability with higher cognitive scores, faster information processing speeds, reduced attention and social withdrawal, and better visual memory in infants and children whose mothers consumed 930mg/day in 2nd & 3rd trimester compared to the 480mg/day group.
All in all, it’s fantastic for our babies’ brains.
I made sure to take Choline every day during my pregnancy.
Vitamin D
Contrary to belief, vitamin D isn’t so much a vitamin as it is a hormone.
Not only is it fantastic for your immune system, but it’s great for hormone regulation and progesterone production, which is vital for implantation.
Also, Vitamin D deficiencies have been linked to pre-eclampsia and gestational diabetes.
Studies show that women with higher levels of Vitamin D have higher implantation rates in IVF and go on to have healthier pregnancies and babies.
I took 1,000 IU daily and will continue to do so throughout my pregnancy.
Some studies show that higher vitamin D levels correlate with less likelihood of needing pain medication and epidurals upon delivery.
More or less, higher levels of Vitamin D in your system may help ease labor pains.
Give Your Kidneys a Day Off
These were my go-to supplements to get pregnant fast!
Considering how quickly it was able to happen, I’m assuming there’s lots of truth to these studies!
I would always skip Sunday and drink lots of water to help flush my kidneys and give them a rest from the supplements.

Track Your Cycle
LH App Tracking
When is a woman most likely to get pregnant?
When she ovulates, this only happens for a finite period every month.
The best way to track ovulation is through an app as soon as you stop hormonal birth control.
Knowing your body data will help you understand the best time for your body to get pregnant.
I attribute to my getting pregnant so fast by knowing my cycle inside and out by tracking my ovulation.
It truly is the OG natural tips on getting pregnant.
There are a couple of quality apps to choose from.
One of the ovulation tracking apps I used was Premom.
The importance of tracking your cycle lies in pinpointing your most fertile time.
This is when pregnancy is most likely to occur.
You do this by taking LH testing strips at home that track your rising hormone levels during ovulation and tracking your period.
You will soon know how long your cycle is during your luteal and follicular stages.
Contrary to belief, you are only fertile for a short time window.
This window ranges about five days out of every month, and once this window has passed, the egg has either been fertilized for pregnancy or missed and released, resulting in your period.
You should start testing your LH levels around day 10 of your cycle.
Test Every Afternoon
Unlike a pregnancy test, the best time to take it is in the afternoon when these hormone levels are highest.
Also, be sure not to intake too much water around this time, for it could dilute your hormones and give you false negatives.
What will happen is you take it every day and report a positive or negative result.
The darker the lines on your test, the higher the hormone, and the closer you are to ovulation.
This is the best time to have sex.
Once ovulation has occurred, the hormone surge will stop abruptly and read on your test.
This will help you define exactly how long your fertile window is and use it to your advantage. Here is an example of progressing LH tests.
You can see where the surge of hormones took place and where it dropped off.
This woman has roughly a 2-day window of this surge.
Ideally, having sex during and a day before this surge is best for pregnancy.

Inspect Cervical Mucus
While recording, for some of you, the result will be more obviously gradual, where you can see the lines are getting progressively darker.
It’s one of the best ways to track your ovulation accurately.
That’s when it’s easiest to tell your ovulation is coming soon instead of popping up.
When you are ovulating, this is the highest chance for pregnancy to occur.
The more successful the cycle recordings, the more you will start to know when it’s coming anyway.
You will get to a point where you know how many days long your cycle is and what days you ovulate without testing.
Another way to track your ovulation is through your vaginal mucus consistency.
This helped me immensely.
When you’re getting closer to ovulation, you start releasing more vaginal secretions than usual.
This consistency is very sticky and stretchy, like egg whites.
This secretion helps retain more sperm and helps aid them up toward the egg.
When your mucus looks and feels like egg whites and stretchy, and your LH surge is underway, it goes time!
After this period comes the 2-week wait to see if your efforts bore any fruit.
If it doesn’t, don’t worry.
Remember, it is a numbers game, and you are much closer to conceiving in the future.

Prevent Blood Stasis in Your Uterus
Now comes the 2-week wait.
The last step to finding out if you successfully got pregnant!
You’ve done all you could to prepare for your most fertile time, now comes the time, if the egg is fertilized, to help support healthy implantation, which could take up to 12 days after ovulation.
One of the natrual tips on gettin getting pregnant is to help prevent blood stasis in your uterus by bringing in new blood flow.
It’s one of the less commonly known tips on getting pregnant naturally.
This is one of the more holistic and natural ways to get pregnant.
One way I did this was by doing some fertility yoga.
Light stretching and opening your womb is a great way to rid your body of any old blood that doesn’t serve you.
Another way I did this was a few times a week or so, I would spend a couple of minutes on my back, with my legs and butt up against a wall and allowing all the blood to flood my uterus.
Remember, fresh blood is healing and nourishing. It carries oxygen and nutrients to deliver to all the organs all over your body.
If you’re wondering how to get pregnant naturally, proper exercise to keep blood flowing to your uterus will only help with implantation!
Don’t ONLY Have Sex During Your Fertile Window
I feel this is one of the most overlooked tips on getting pregnant.
What is especially important is that sex doesn’t become a dutiful chore to conceive only during your fertile window.
Sex isn’t just for reproduction purposes, remember!
It is to help you bond as a couple and share the love.
Sex can quickly become undesirable if it’s only used as a means to get pregnant at a specific time of the month.
Don’t forget you are still a couple, and sex is a great way to engage in intimacy and maintain the health of your relationship.
Enjoy each other!
It’s good for you both!
Pregnancy will follow with time, especially when you get the needed help!
Your Time To Get Pregnant Will Come
I hope you enjoyed these tips on getting pregnant.
I know this seems like a lot of information and can be overwhelming.
It will all become worth it once you finally see those two pink lines on your pregnancy test!
Love, trust and believe in your body.
It’s so much more competent than you think.
If it takes you longer than usual to achieve pregnancy, there is nothing wrong with that.
Every pregnancy happens in its own time when it’s supposed to, whether the first month you try or the 10th.
Always seek help and support if you need it.
Don’t feel the need to wait to see a doctor for fertility testing if you like.
It doesn’t hurt to seek out why you haven’t gotten pregnant when you wanted to.
Nourish and support your relationship and be there for each other and have a love for yourself, your partner, and the child you have yet to conceive.
Good luck!
